Job Description

Community Outreach Coordinator Location:
Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid/Field-based) The Community Outreach Coordinator is a dynamic, results-driven, and highly organized professional who plays a key role in advancing the mission of the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC). This position is responsible for developing and executing strategies that expand community engagement, enhance public awareness, and support awareness activities within medical communities. The ideal candidate will be a passionate ambassador for SARRC, capable of building strong relationships across diverse audiences and effectively representing the organization in both community and corporate settings. This role is primarily community facing and event driven, focused on representing SARRC at external events, fostering grassroots relationships, and increasing awareness of SARRC programs and services among families, educators, and community partners. Your Role at
SARRC:
This is a high-visibility, community-facing role that supports our strategic growth plan to become a statewide organization by 2030.
Strategic Engagement:
Develop and execute community outreach goals aligned with organizational growth plans, service line expansion, and campus capacity.
Event Leadership & Community Awareness:
Lead the planning and execution of community-facing events across Arizona. Support content development by identifying community stories, testimonials, volunteer scheduling, and post-event follow-ups to maintain consistent messaging within the community.
Advocacy & Education:
Develop standardized outreach toolkits, talking points, and presentation decks to ensure consistent messaging. Deliver engaging presentations to community groups, schools, and organizations to promote autism awareness and increase visibility of SARRC's mission, programs, and services.
Relationship Management:
Maintain a strong community presence focused on strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, expanding reach, and enhancing impact. Work closely with the Community & Provider Engagement Manager to align outreach and networking efforts with broader engagement strategy.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a business-related and/or social services specialization from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience. Must be comfortable traveling locally within the Greater Phoenix area as well as northern and southern Arizona as needed. Salary $55,000 annually
Hours:
Full-time, Monday - Friday Business hours are between 8:00am - 5:00pm, with nights and weekend available per business needs.
