About Living Hope Foundation dba Sospeso Living Hope Foundation, operating as Sospeso, is a nonprofit dedicated to cultivating spaces of transformation, belonging, and renewal in Pomona. Through initiatives such as community education, job readiness support, mental health resources, and a welcoming café space, we work to embody compassionate presence and create opportunities for individuals and families to flourish. Role Overview The Community Outreach Specialist will be the "face and voice" of our organization in the Pomona community. Your primary goal is to build meaningful relationships with residents, local businesses, and partner organizations to increase awareness of our mission and expand our impact. This is a highly collaborative role that requires a mix of event planning, grassroots networking, and digital communication.
Key Responsibilities Community Engagement:
Attend local events, Chamber of Commerce meetings, farmers' markets, and city meetings to represent the organization and share our resources.
Partnership Building:
Identify and cultivate relationships with local stakeholders, including schools, faith-based groups, and other Pomona nonprofits.
Event Coordination:
Lead the planning and execution of small-scale community workshops, "pop-up" info booths, and volunteer appreciation events.
Communication:
Assist in creating simple, engaging content for social media (Instagram/Facebook) and monthly newsletters to keep our community informed.
Resource Navigation:
Serve as a point of contact for community members seeking information about our services or referrals to local resources.
Data Tracking:
Maintain a simple log of outreach activities and community feedback to help us measure our success and adapt our strategies.
Qualifications Local Knowledge:
Strong familiarity with the Pomona community, its culture, and its unique needs.
People Skills:
Natural ability to strike up conversations and build trust with diverse groups of people.
Communication:
Clear written and verbal communication skills; Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a major plus for this region.
Reliability:
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
Passion:
A genuine commitment to the mission of our organization and the well-being of Pomona residents. Requirements Ability to travel locally within Pomona and surrounding Inland Empire areas. Availability for occasional weekend or evening events (with advance notice). Experience in community organizing, sales, or customer service is preferred but not required.
