Donor Relations Coordinator - Central Coast and Central Valley South The Salvation Army Golden State Division - 3.9 San Francisco, CA Job Details $32.50 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Customer communication High school diploma or GED Driver's License Productivity software Full Job Description Overview The Donor Relations Coordinator (DRC) plays a key role in advancing the mission of The Salvation Army by acting as a Midlevel Gift Officer, cultivating strong donor relationships, driving strategic engagement, and supporting fundraising initiatives that benefit programs and corps across the Golden State Division. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Development and aligned with the Director of Development and Divisional Commander, this position is accountable for building a healthy donor pipeline, strengthening stewardship practices, and working toward measurable fundraising outcomes. The role also requires close collaboration with Corps Officers, program staff, and Donor Relations Directors (Major Gift officers) to ensure donors are connected to the mission in meaningful and sustainable ways. Key Duties & Responsibilities Donor Engagement & Stewardship Manage a caseload of no more than 1,200 active donors. Build and maintain relationships with caseload donors through calls, emails, written notes, and personalized stewardship. Send timely personal donor thank you and/or welcome kits Respond promptly to donor inquiries. Work toward building relationships by providing impact updates on local programs and inviting donors to special events, tours, or engagement opportunities. Maintain accurate donor records, documenting conversations, research, and touchpoints in the donor database. • Provide monthly reports on giving patterns, production and gifts year to date Identify and refer potential major gift donors to Donor Relations Directors. Build strong relationships with Army programs and units to stay updated on programs and community needs. Coordinate with team members (DRDs and Planned Giving) to ensure a consistent, unified approach to donor care. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent (required); bachelor's degree preferred. Valid California driver's license (required). Experience in data entry, marketing, and customer service. Sales or Fundraising experience (preferred) Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience required; donor databases preferred. Skills & Abilities Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven. Comfortable working with metrics and fundraising goals. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (e.g., file boxes).
