Overview The Food Outreach Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of UF Health Jacksonville's food procurement and distribution operations, including oversight and coordination of food pickup, receipt, storage, inventory management, and distribution to community members in need. This position plays a key role in expanding food outreach initiatives, ensuring compliance with USDA and other governing agency requirements, and supporting the organization's mission to address food insecurity within the community. The Food Outreach Coordinator trains and manages volunteers and staff, when applicable, to ensure daily client needs are met while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient food pantry operation. Community outreach and engagement experience strongly preferred. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate all food procurement, pickup, receipt, storage, inventory control, and distribution activities. Supervise daily operations of the Food Pantry, ensuring efficient and equitable distribution of food resources. Maintain accurate records and documentation and complete required reporting for USDA and other regulatory agencies. Monitor inventory levels and implement controls to minimize waste and ensure adequate food supplies. Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise volunteers and staff involved in food pantry operations. Ensure compliance with food safety standards, storage requirements, and pantry best practices. Build and maintain relationships with community partners, donors, and stakeholders. Conduct community needs assessments to identify gaps in food access and opportunities for program growth. Collaborate with agency leadership to develop and implement strategies that expand food outreach services. Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients from diverse backgrounds. Utilize de-escalation techniques when necessary to address client concerns and maintain a welcoming environment. Assist with outreach events and community engagement activities as assigned. Qualifications Required Education High School Diploma or GED. Required Licensure/Certification Valid Florida or Georgia driver's license with a clean driving record or violations not exceeding maximum points permitted under hospital policy. Preferred Licensure/Certification Food Handling Safety Certification. Required Experience Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in hospitality, food management, nutrition education, or a related field. Preferred Experience Customer service experience. Bilingual (English/Spanish). Chauffeur experience and/or experience driving a recreational vehicle. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients, staff, volunteers, community partners, and donors. Ability to learn and apply de-escalation techniques (training provided). Knowledge of pantry safety standards, food storage practices, and inventory management principles (training provided). Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and inventory management software. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work collaboratively as a team member while delivering high-quality customer service. Commitment to serving diverse populations with dignity, compassion, and respect.
