Outreach Manager Position Summary:
The primary focus of the Pets for Life Coordinator is to build relationships with pet owners in a targeted community in order to keep pets in their existing homes by offering assistance through free or low-cost veterinary care, pet supplies, transportation, and information sharing.
Essential Functions:
▪ Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Pets for Life program developed by HSUS ▪ Lead Pets for Life activities, consistent with PFL program model, in target communities ▪ Perform frequent and consistent door to door canvassing (2-3 times weekly) ▪ Execute neighborhood events and vaccine clinics each quarter ▪ Arrange wellness and spay/neuter appointments for owners, providing transport when appropriate ▪ Arrange limited illness/urgent services for owners with pets in the Pets For Life target areas utilizing our veterinary clinic. ▪ Coordinate distribution of pet food and supplies to targeted communities ▪ Serve as a resource to pet owners with other various needs ▪ Input and manage PFL database ensuring all client information is timely and accurately entered ▪ Maintain communication with the Outreach Manager daily on program updates and challenges ▪ Take photographs in the community of people and their pets on a weekly basis and upload them onto the Google drive ▪ Work with and help other programs within the outreach department as directed by Outreach Manager and Director of Outreach General ▪ Possess a clear understanding and adhere to standard operating of Paws Humane and the Pets for Life program ▪ Be punctual for scheduled shifts, and maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance. ▪ Must work effi ciently, with attention to detail, and demonstrate initiative, motivation, creativity, and enthusiasm for the position and Paws Humane Society ▪ Provide excellent customer service and exercise friendly, engaging, and helpful interaction with the public, always projecting a positive attitude and image at Paws Humane Society ▪ Become knowledgeable about Paws Humane Society, sharing our mission, available programs, and accomplishments. ▪ Respond timely to phone messages and emails ▪ Maintain a clean and organized work environment throughout the day Knowledge, Abilities, Skills and/or Qualifi cations Necessary to
Perform Essential Job Functions:
▪ Must have a valid driver's license and MVR record insurable by commercial insurance ▪ Must be physically able to perform fast-paced, physically strenuous labor that requires walking/ standing for long periods and lifting up to 50lbs ▪ Must be physically and mentally able to handle animals safely and effectively ▪ Must have the ability to speak normally and use normal or aided vision and hearing ▪ Must be able to utilize computer technology in a paper-light environment

▪ Indoor & Outdoor shelter environment that operates 7 days a week including outdoor canvassing/transport during the summer months ▪ Interaction with a variety species of animals, of unknown medical history, where there is potential exposure to zoonotic disease ▪ Frequent exposure to common allergens and daily contact with sanitation chemicals and cleaning products
