Young Women's Advisory Council (YWAC)
Coordinator Reports To:
Director of Operations Position Summary The Young Women's Advisory Council (YWAC) Coordinator leads the implementation of CWUW's Young Women's Advisory Council, a leadership and wellness program serving young women ages 18-24. This position is responsible for recruiting and retaining participants, facilitating the 15-week curriculum, supporting alumni engagement, coordinating community partnerships, and helping young women develop advocacy and community action projects that address issues important to their lives and communities. The Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for YWAC participants and alumni, helping ensure young women remain engaged, supported, and connected to opportunities that promote leadership, personal growth, and overall well-being. Key Responsibilities Program Coordination Recruit, enroll, and retain participants for YWAC cohorts. Facilitate the 15-week YWAC curriculum and related leadership development activities. Coordinate workshops, guest speakers, community events, and participant engagement activities. Maintain communication with participants and support ongoing engagement throughout the program. Advocacy & Leadership Development Support each cohort in identifying and addressing a critical issue affecting young women and their communities. Assist participants in developing and implementing community awareness, education, or advocacy campaigns. Foster leadership, communication, and civic engagement skills among participants. Participant Engagement & Follow-Up Maintain relationships with YWAC alumni through ongoing outreach and engagement opportunities. Conduct participant check-ins, follow-up assessments, and outcome tracking. Connect participants to community resources and services when appropriate. Community Partnerships & Evaluation Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, and other stakeholders. Attend coalition meetings, community meetings, and outreach events representing CWUW and YWAC. Collect participant success stories, testimonials, and program outcomes. Assist with data collection, grant reporting, and program evaluation activities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Education, Human Services, Women's Studies, or a related field preferred. Minimum of two years of experience in youth development, public health, community engagement, education, or nonprofit programming. Experience facilitating groups, workshops, or leadership development activities. Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and community partners. Working Conditions Full-time position. Some evening and weekend work required. Local travel within Marion County and surrounding communities.
