ABOUT ETHOS
Ethos is a private, non-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting independence, dignity and well-being among the elderly and disabled through quality, affordable and culturally-appropriate home and community-based care. As a state-authorized Aging Services Access Point (ASAP), Ethos coordinates all the non-institutional home and community-based services for elderly and disabled residents of the southwest Boston neighborhoods of West Roxbury, Hyde Park, Roslindale, Jamaica Plain, and Mattapan and well as, provides city-wide nutrition services in Boston, which serve approximately 2.1 million meal for older adults, delivered to the home (Meals on Wheels) or served in neighborhood congregate settings (Community Cafés). The organization also provides Medicare Counseling (SHINE), Long-Term Care Ombudsman, Money Management and Healthy Aging programs for the entire city of Boston. DUTIES:
Manages the coordination of member services, including working with members and staff, scheduling programs, disseminating event invitations, and preparing materials and notes. Works closely with the Chief Community Services Officer, Neighbors Connect organizing committee members, and other staff across the organization to execute member recruitment, marketing, and fundraising activities. Organizes and develops presentations for prospective members throughout the program's service area. Liaises with other Ethos staff to coordinate shared responsibilities including In-Home Needs Assessments and support services for members. Maintains member records in database to ensure accuracy and completeness. Performs data entry of lists acquired to support member recruitment and retention. Supports member retention efforts. Draft and manage regular communications with members, utilizing email, print, and web tools. Creates and distributes monthly newsletter.REQUIRED
EDUCATION andEXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree with experience in human services, community outreach, membership, communications, event management, or marketing. Three to five years of experience in a related field will be an acceptable substitution for a bachelor's degree. One to three years of experience with customer and/or client relations. One to three years of experience in event and volunteer management. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). Experience with design programs such as Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is highly desirable. Experience with Salesforce preferred. Membership/fundraising experience preferred.OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of issues concerning older adults Strong knowledge of the Jamaica Plain and Boston community Ability to learn and use the membership and event databases/systems rapidly and effectively. Interpret and apply knowledge to varying situations. Ability to work independently as well as within a team. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Strong resource organization skills. Ability to initiate, prioritize and multi-task with various responsibilities. Strong analytic skills with the ability to identify recruitment and marketing opportunities and experience with training and group presentations Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to reach out to organize and work with diverse groups of people and agencies Experience in marketing programs and services Experience in health care, aging services, nutrition, health education, or similar field Strong analytic skills with the ability to identify sales and marketing opportunities and recommend and execute appropriate courses of action. Some travel within Massachusetts is required: you must have ability to travel and arrive on time.
