Job Description

Position Summary 217 Recovery is seeking a motivated and community-focused individual to serve as our Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFW) Coordinator. This position will help expand the Recovery Friendly Workplace initiative by building relationships with employers, promoting recovery-supportive workplace practices, assisting businesses through the certification process, and strengthening connections between employers and the recovery community. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys networking, public speaking, community outreach, workforce development, and helping individuals and businesses create opportunities for people in recovery. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Recruit and engage employers interested in becoming Recovery Friendly Workplaces. Conduct outreach to businesses, chambers of commerce, industry groups, and community organizations. Assist employers through the Recovery Friendly Workplace certification process. Coordinate meetings, presentations, trainings, and employer engagement activities. Develop and maintain relationships with local employers and workforce partners. Promote recovery-supportive policies and practices within workplaces. Attend community events, networking meetings, and employer outreach opportunities. Track outreach activities, employer contacts, and program outcomes. Assist with marketing, social media, and promotional efforts related to the RFW initiative. Collaborate with 217 Recovery staff and community partners to increase awareness of recovery-friendly employment opportunities. Complete required grant documentation and reporting activities. Preferred Qualifications Experience in community outreach, workforce development, business relations, human resources, recovery support services, or related fields. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Comfortable speaking with employers, community leaders, and groups. Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule. Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and basic database entry. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Preferred but Not Required Personal or professional experience with recovery. Certified Recovery Coach (CRC), Peer Recovery Coach, PRSS, or willingness to obtain certification. Experience in employer engagement, recruiting, workforce programs, or business development. Physical Requirements Ability to travel throughout Northern Michigan for meetings and events. Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment. Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds. Why Join 217 Recovery?
