Going Beyond the Pink (GBTP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering breast cancer patients and survivors with the knowledge and support they need to thrive through treatment and into survivorship. We offer critical resources, financial assistance, and health and wellness programs to our community, helping those affected by breast cancer navigate their journey with confidence and resilience.
Position Overview:
We're hiring a part-time Programs and Outreach Manager to run our programs, connect with the community, and provide direct support to the people we serve. You'll be the engine behind GBTP's programs designing and running core initiatives including REACH Survivors' Symposium, Pink Squad digital platform, monthly wellness workshops, and other outreach initiatives. Day to day, that means developing and facilitating in-person workshops on breast cancer prevention, health, and wellness; representing GBTP at community events and health fairs; and providing direct client support through resources and patient navigation, both in person and virtually. You'll write the monthly newsletter, The Pink Perspective , along with other email communications to our subscriber base. You'll manage our Pink Squad digital community, lead the Pink Squad steering committee, and oversee our relationship with The After Cancer, our technical partner for that platform. You'll also develop content across our programs and outreach channels to keep our community engaged. On the team side, you'll work alongside public health and social work interns, offering day-to-day guidance and support on their projects. Local travel to community events and client meetings is required; mileage is reimbursed. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required based on community events. This position is grant-funded and may conclude at the end of the grant period unless additional funding is secured.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and run GBTP's core programs: REACH Survivors' Symposium, monthly wellness workshops, Pink Squad, and other community outreach initiatives. Represent GBTP at community outreach events, health fairs, and fundraisers. Provide direct client support through in-person and virtual patient navigation and resource referrals. Develop and facilitate monthly in-person workshops on breast cancer prevention, health, and wellness. Write monthly newsletter and other email communications as needed. Manage the Pink Squad digital community: lead the steering committee, moderate content, and drive online engagement. Manage the relationship with The After Cancer, GBTP's Pink Squad technical partner. Develop content for GBTP programs, resources, and outreach efforts. Guide and support public health and social work interns in daily tasks and projects. Collaborate with the team to ensure successful delivery of all GBTP programs. Travel locally to community events and client meetings as needed (mileage reimbursed). Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Passion for supporting individuals affected by breast cancer and a commitment to GBTP's mission. Bachelor's degree required. Experience in program coordination, community outreach, or a similar role in a nonprofit or health-related setting. Strong health literacy skills with ability to understand medical information and communicate it clearly to general audiences. Strong writing skills, with attention to detail and the ability to convey complex information concisely. Proficiency in Google Workspace required. Experience with email marketing platforms (ConvertKit, Mailchimp, or similar) preferred. Experience with Squarespace preferred. Experience designing graphics in Canva preferred. Comfortable on social media platforms. Experience with CRM systems preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a small team. Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed). Must complete oncology patient navigation training within six months of hire. Breast cancer experience (as survivor, caregiver, family member, or friend) is not required but is a plus.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time, grant-funded position, and employment is contingent upon continued grant funding. Some travel is required for events and client support.
