Rockland Council is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Community Wellness & Prevention Specialist to join our Prevention team. This position is responsible for engaging with individuals, families, schools, community organizations, and other partners throughout Rockland County to promote prevention, wellness, education, and access to community resources. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who enjoys working in the community, building meaningful relationships, presenting to diverse audiences, facilitating educational activities, and connecting individuals and community partners with appropriate prevention, treatment, recovery, and social service resources. The position requires flexibility and strong organizational skills. This position reports to the Director of Prevention Services. Responsibilities Provide information and connect individuals and community partners with appropriate prevention, treatment, recovery, and social service resources. Represent Rockland Council at community events and promote prevention and community resources. Disseminate information on substance use/misuse prevention, medication safety, vaping, marijuana, fentanyl, gambling, and other relevant topics. Participate in tabling events, health fairs, awareness campaigns, community meetings, coalitions, and community outreach activities. Assist with coordinating and providing prevention presentations, trainings, and educational programs for schools, colleges, community organizations, and other groups. Assist with building and maintaining relationships with colleges, municipalities, healthcare providers, and other community partners throughout Rockland County. Develop and deliver special-topic presentations handouts, flyers, resource guides, and other educational materials. Support school-based prevention programming and provide coverage with all prevention programming as needed. Responsible for maintaining accurate data on presentations, trainings, resource distribution, outreach and other prevention activities to be entered into WITNYS (statewide reporting system). Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Fluent in English and Spanish, both verbal and written. Strong knowledge of community resources and service providers throughout Rockland County. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required, with the ability to travel throughout Rockland County. Strong communication skills, public speaking, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Experience providing educational presentations, workshops, trainings, or community outreach. Experience in prevention, health education, community education/resources, youth services, and/or a related field. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Schedule Typical schedule is Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM Evening and weekend hours are required for presentations, trainings, meetings, outreach events, and other community activities.

$54,000.00 per year
