Job Description

Position Summary The Behavioral Health Outreach & Referral Specialist serves as the primary connection between the organization and the community, fostering relationships with local agencies, healthcare providers, schools, government entities, and community stakeholders. This role is responsible for increasing program awareness, generating referrals, and ensuring individuals and families have access to appropriate behavioral health and supportive services.
Key Responsibilities Community Engagement & Outreach:
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with community organizations, hospitals, schools, shelters, and local agencies Represent the organization at community events, health fairs, and outreach initiatives Conduct presentations to promote services and programs
Referral Development:
Build and sustain a referral network across Georgia Identify potential referral sources and establish ongoing communication Track and manage referral activity to ensure follow-up and engagement Client Support & Navigation Assist individuals and families with accessing services and resources Provide education on available programs, eligibility, and enrollment processes Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth intake and service coordination Marketing & Awareness Distribute marketing materials and maintain visibility in the community Support outreach campaigns aligned with organizational goals Provide feedback on community needs and service gaps Data Tracking & Reporting Maintain accurate records of outreach efforts, contacts, and referrals Prepare weekly/monthly outreach reports Monitor trends to improve engagement strategies Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Health, Marketing, or related field (preferred) Minimum of 2 years of experience in community outreach, behavioral health, case management, or related field Experience working within Georgia community systems (preferred) Skills & Competencies Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills Excellent communication and public speaking abilities Knowledge of community resources and behavioral health systems Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data tracking systems Licensure/Requirements (Preferred but not always required) Valid Georgia Driver's License and reliable transportation CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred) Background check clearance Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standards Work Environment Frequent travel within assigned Georgia regions Combination of office, community, and field-based work Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary (based on experience) Mileage reimbursement (if applicable) Health benefits (if full-time) Professional development opportunities Performance Expectations Meet monthly outreach and referral targets Maintain active partnerships within the community Demonstrate measurable impact on program growth and engagement Why This Role Matters This position is critical in bridging gaps between underserved populations and essential services, ensuring individuals receive timely, compassionate, and effective care within their communities.
Pay:
