ShowJob=855774528 Position Summary Working up to 10 hours a week, the part-time Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for recruiting new girl members and volunteers through networking, hosting local recruitment activities for interested families, partnering with local organizations, and increasing visibility within the community. This position will be based out of Marquette, MI, or the immediate surrounding area. Key Responsibilities Plan, promote, and facilitate Girl Scout recruitment events, where families can sample Girl Scout activities and learn about joining, volunteering, and forming troops. Network with local organizations and businesses Research, contact, and develop collaborations with local groups such as schools, colleges, service groups, and businesses. Share Girl Scout information and develop local partnerships that help GSNWGL grow Girl Scouts in the area. Develop new ways to market opportunities to families, plan programs together, and recruit girl members and volunteers from their participation. Participate in school and community events Research, set up, and represent Girl Scouts at school and community events, such as fairs, family festivals, Trunk-or-Treats, etc., by hosting Girl Scout information booths and leading quick, fun sample activities such as games or crafts, or presenting a short activity. The Community Engagement Coordinator will talk with people, share information, and collect interest cards with contact information to enter into the online system. Increase awareness of Girl Scout opportunities within Marquette and the surrounding areas. This includes posting Girl Scout information about upcoming recruitment events, troop opportunities, camp, etc., in local social media groups, and placing posters, yard signs, and brochures at community sites. Represent Girl Scouts in the media and at local fundraising events as requested. Reach out to families who have expressed interest in joining or who attend events, share information about available opportunities, and document contact within the system. Competencies and Areas of Expertise Oral and Written Communication - expresses ideas and facts in a clear and understandable manner appropriate for the individual or group; listens to and comprehends what others are saying; prepares organized and structured presentations; demonstrates the ability to work with a wide range of sensitive and confidential issues and communicate effectively with a diverse group of girls, volunteers, and staff. Technical computer skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, customer relationship management systems, and social networking. Time Management - ability to coordinate multiple projects while managing conflicting priorities and deadlines; establishes courses of action for accomplishing goals while attending to and incorporating information obtained during day-to-day tasks. Qualifications Excellent networking and relationship-building, public speaking, and presentation skills. Strong organizational habits and self-motivation. Willingness to work in schools, outdoors, and community spaces. Flexible schedule with potential evening and weekend commitments. Expectations Commitment to the Girl Scout mission and values. Ability to motivate and engage others, enthusiasm for working with children and families. Knowledge of local resources. Strong understanding of or willingness to learn the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Must be (or become) a registered Girl Scout member.
