A Community or Political Organizer works to unite citizens around a concern, ranging from reducing environmental pollution to fighting prejudice. Can be involved in organizing and working on political campaigns to advance social goals.
This position is approximately 75% in the field and 25% in the office. The perfect person will be a creative thinker and comfortable meeting new people. The position requires excellent knowledge of the Pittsburgh and surrounding suburbs. The position requires a valid driver's license and an excellent driving record. SarahCare Adult Day Health Center is seeking a dynamic and passionate Community Outreach Coordinator to build and maintain relationships with referral sources, families, caregivers, healthcare professionals, senior service organizations, and community partners to increase awareness of SarahCare's adult day health services. The Community Outreach Coordinator will serve as a positive representative of SarahCare in the community and communicate the value of adult day services , caregiver respite, dementia support , and person-centered care. The ideal candidate will be energetic, highly organized, and possess a strong commitment to social equity and community empowerment. Community Outreach and Relationship Building Identify, visit, and build relationships with referral sources, such as, but not limited to, hospitals, physician offices, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, home health agencies, senior centers, social workers, case managers, churches, veteran organizations, and community agencies. Represent SarahCare at community events, health fairs, networking meetings, caregiver events, and professional gatherings. Assist with scheduling tours, presentations, and introductory meetings for families and community partners. Build and maintain strong relationships with local organizations, schools, healthcare providers, and other community partners to foster collaboration and expand program reach. Plan and deliver engaging public speaking presentations at community events, workshops, and meetings to promote programs and services. Manage social media platforms and marketing campaigns to raise awareness about community initiatives and increase participation.
Basic Requirements:
MUST be comfortable meeting new people, making cold calls, and speaking in public Working knowledge of the Pittsburgh area. Strong public speaking abilities with comfort presenting to varied audiences. Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented. Proficient with various computer applications. Experience working with older adults, caregivers, or healthcare professionals. Knowledge of adult day services, dementia care, caregiver support, aging services, or healthcare referrals is a plus. Strong communication, relationship-building, and follow-up skills. Comfortable meeting new people, making outreach visits, and representing SarahCare in the community. Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple priorities. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel locally for outreach activities.
