Overview:
The Outreach Coordinator performs population-level outreach and collaborates with partner agencies to advance the mission of the Fairbanks Wellness Coalition. This role is responsible for executing program activities, planning and implementing outreach efforts in collaboration with other FWC staff, managing volunteers, and growing community engagement and awareness of wellness and suicide prevention.

Experience coordinating or motivating volunteers is essential. Responsibilities:
Represent the Fairbanks Wellness Coalition and uphold Coalition identified values at community events, activities, and projects. Interact with volunteers, staff members, and the community in a manner that is respectful and empowering. Consistent and dependable attendance. Maintain professional boundaries. Attend all mandatory staff meetings, program meetings, and trainings required. Present a professional demeanor to the community through appearance, communication, and presentation.
Essential Functions:
Provides day-to-day support to FWC program activities in alignment with the FWC Mission, Vision, and strategic plan. Alongside the Director, provide information to the public regarding Coalition mission and activities. Assist with managing and maintaining the FWC Community Center Recruit volunteers and work with FWC volunteers to ensure appropriate training and coverage at tabling events for community outreach Facilitate the Events Workgroup and work with the Coordinator to plan and execute multiple program events per quarter. Facilitate the youth-led VIBE Council, providing prevention education and support to enable 16-24 year olds to engage in peer-to-peer outreach Collect and record data, and assist with preparation of relevant reports. Plans, facilitates, and represents FWC at meetings, conferences, trainings, and/or other events with nonprofit leaders, staff, and other stakeholders, including making remarks or presentations. Assist with promotional materials, flyers, brochures, and other printed/digital media. Liaise with outreach specialists from other organizations to develop a network. Perform related work as assigned consistent with current duties and responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications Ability to speak and/or present to the public, community groups, and organizations. Knowledge of the Fairbanks community. Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles. Proficiency with computers and word processing software, and ability to do data entry. Excellent interpersonal, group, and written communication skills. Knowledge and understanding of Alaska culture, lifestyle, and life in rural Alaska. Valid Alaska driver's license. Ability to work with minimal direct supervision. Ability to pass a background check. Preferred Qualifications Associates degree in human services, business, marketing, education, or closely related field. Job or school experience may be used in lieu of a degree. Experience and ability to facilitate meetings. Proficiency in web design and developing marketing materials, as well as proficiency in all social media platforms.

FWC Director and United Way Tanana Valley Executive Director Work Environment:
In office, with potential for hybrid/remote work after a trial period. This position requires frequent off-site work, including attending meetings and community events. Applicants must have reliable transportation and the ability to lift 25lbs.
Hours:
40 hours per week, must be available evenings and weekends
Wage:
$21-23/hr

This position is employed by United Way of the Tanana Valley and assigned to support the Fairbanks Wellness Coalition. Employment is at will and subject to all applicable United Way of the Tanana Valley personnel policies, employee handbook provisions, compensation and benefit programs, and other human resources policies and procedures.
