Non-profit Position Summary Under the direction of the Advancement Manager, the US Church Relations & Mission Outreach Coordinator is responsible for developing and managing MKLM's relationships with U.S. dioceses, parishes, and multicultural Catholic communities. This role leads the Church Dates Program, advances multicultural outreach and prospect research, and collaborates with the Mission Services Department on missioner recruitment and engagement with returned missioners through the Always a Missioner (AAM) program. S/he engages donors and church partners directly through personalized communications and outreach that deepens their relationship with MKLM. S/he works in close collaboration with the Executive Director, Advancement Manager, and department directors as needed.
Essential Job Criteria Education:
BA or BS degree in a related field.
Experience:
Mission experience and knowledge of the U.S. Catholic Church preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities Proficiency in computer and database skills, including DonorPerfect Creativity, initiative, and a self-starter approach Strong team player with a collaborative approach across departments Ability to motivate and guide Association Members in their speaking engagements Spanish speaking skills helpful
Supervisory Responsibilities:
N/A Essential Job Functions A. Church Relations & Mission Outreach Maintain a minimum of 75 Annual Church Date Mission Appeals through the Mission Cooperative Plan (MCP) and invitational church dates Grow strategic relationships with leadership, administrators, and support networks of existing and potential U.S. arch/dioceses and parishes Coordinate the cultivation, solicitation, fulfillment, and follow-up of church dates, including acknowledgement letters Enhance the visibility of Church Dates to surrounding communities and MKLM constituents Grow revenue through Church Dates and prepare regular reports on revenues, speakers, and parishes/dioceses Personally conduct church date presentations as needed Support the Mission Services Department in setting up mission recruitment events at parishes and related groups Expand the involvement of active missioners and returned missioners in church appeals B. Multicultural Relations & Prospect Research Grow MKLM visibility within diverse cultural communities (Vietnamese, Hispanic, and Korean) Assist with developing strategies to increase recruitment of multicultural lay missioners and donor support Assist with multicultural outreach and translation, including via social media platforms Monitor and evaluate multicultural relationships; prepare reports for leadership Assist outreach efforts to increase diversity of missioners, board of directors, and donor base C. Always a Missioner (AAM) Engagement Participate in Always a Missioner (AAM) activities and discussions to maintain connection with returned missioners Collaborate with the AAM Advisory Council to identify opportunities for returned missioners to support church dates, recruitment, and fundraising Help coordinate AAM communications and events as they relate to church relations and mission outreach D. Team Collaboration Serve as an active, collaborative member of the Advancement team Work closely with Communications, Mission Services, and other departments to ensure alignment on messaging, events, and recruitment efforts Participate in Advancement team meetings and cross-departmental coordination meetings as needed Key Responsibilities in Detail Church Date Coordination Manage the full cycle of church date coordination, from application through follow-up Maintain and expand network contacts with diocesan mission offices Maintain accurate records of dioceses, parishes, mission directors, and church dates in DonorPerfect Generate reports of upcoming church dates for the Advancement Manager Coordinate with MSD on recruitment activities at select parishes Promote participation of missioners, returned missioners, and Affiliates in speaking engagements Update the Speaker's Packet annually Present workshops to new candidates in Orientation and returned missioners in the MIP program Ensure all Association policies related to church dates are communicated and followed Write a formal evaluation of each church date season Event & Conference Participation Coordinate with the AAM Advisory Council, Mission Services, Advancement, Communications, and MKLM Leadership to select representatives for outreach events Budget travel expenses and registration fees for events in the yearly U.S. Church Relations budget Coordinate with the Communications Manager to ensure appropriate promotional materials for each event Assist in diversity study to determine gaps and needs in recruitment, board development, and fundraising Collaborate on the following events as needed, subject to yearly evaluation: USCMA (United States Catholic Mission Association) NCCHM (National Catholic Conference for Hispanic Ministry) National Black Catholic Conference CVN (Catholic Volunteer Network)
Working Conditions, Travel & Environment Location:
Hybrid - if located in the Ossining, NY area, this position is expected to be in the office with remote days. If located outside the Ossining area, this position is remote with periodic travel to the office as needed.

Must be able to travel as required for church dates, mission appeals, conferences, and donor meetings
Availability:
Must be available to work evenings and weekends as required for church dates and events Work cooperatively with MKLM missioners, board, staff, benefactors, and Maryknoll Society, Congregation, and Affiliates as needed Significant Physical Requirements Travel between buildings in all types of weather Travel between floors of buildings using stairs, elevators, and ladders Lift and carry materials, books, forms, supplies, and equipment to and from offices, shops, conference rooms, and storage areas Lift and maneuver objects of various sizes, shapes, and weights Manual dexterity and visual acuity for using computer and calculator Body motions such as bending, reaching, and/or sitting for extended periods
Pay:
$66,300.00 - $67,000.00 per year
