Position Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor's degree, two year of experience in a direct service agency or three years personal experience as a direct service volunteer in a non-profit setting. At least one year of supervisory experience and skilled in public speaking. Preferred Master's degree or higher, at least three years of experience in an organization addressing the needs of victims of family violence and/or sexual violence. At least one year of experience in public speaking and/or public relations. Three or more years of supervisory experience. Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Primary Functions:
  • Supervises, coordinates, and evaluates activities of outreach personnel to ensure that activities are in accordance with MCWC's policies and further the MCWC mission.
  • Ensures objectives on yearly staff plan are met for the program by supervising efforts to solicit opportunities to provide community and school-based education as well as primary prevention education.
  • Coordinates speaking engagements and professional training
  • Reviews and approves curriculum for community education and primary prevention programs.
  • Presents materials to the community that identify strategies to address risk reduction and help eliminate risk factors regarding domestic violence and sexual assault.
  • Supervises efforts to develop strategies to increase community awareness of the crime of sexual violence and efforts to increase the effectiveness of local responses to sexual violence.
  • Participates and ensures that appropriate staff is engaged in the Network of Victim Assistance Organizations (NOVA).
  • Timely completion of all supervisory responsibilities including, but not limited to, program orientation of staff and interns, performance evaluations of staff, and reviewing and approving time sheets, leave requests, and travel expenses.
  • Ensures the requirements are met for statistical reporting of grant information generated by the outreach staff.
  • Ensures additional recordkeeping is completed and provide information regarding outreach activities as requested.
  • Coordinates special projects and educational endeavors by the outreach staff including, but not limited to: Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and educational seminars and ensures adequate promotion of such projects.
  • Ensures program compliance with funding sources.
  • Takes an active role in committees, networking groups and/or work groups as assigned.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.
