The Children's Advocacy Center of the Coastal Bend is a non-profit agency who utilizes a victim-centered, multidisciplinary team approach to the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases, providing specialized forensic interviews, therapeutic recovery services, and case management.
Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Marketing & Outreach Specialist works with various community and government agencies, and the Multidisciplinary Team, to provide outreach, awareness, and education of child abuse in the community. Additionally, this position assists in fundraising efforts, from preparation to execution and post event acknowledgements, and leads marketing and development efforts of the organization.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively plan, organize, and facilitate opportunities in the community for the agency to present child abuse prevention education and outreach. Implement training for professionals and a broad array of community groups on prevention, awareness, and reporting of child abuse. Deliver all aspects of the center's child abuse prevention/education programs for children through all the Independent School Districts in our official service area. Develop content for written educational and outreach materials to keep abreast of current trends in child abuse/neglect. Build relationships with a variety of corporate, civic, and professional organizations. Partner with local colleges and universities to provide guest lecture opportunities. Foster collaborative relationships with members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team for educational programming and provide presentations to LE, DFPS, DA's, etc. as needed. Evaluate the effectiveness of programming through appropriate quantitative and qualitative measures, meeting established outcomes and goals. Report data to Executive Director for grant reporting or as requested for funding or development purposes. Share a role in engaging the agency's corporate partners through coordination of community education opportunities. Serve as an agency speaker in the community as directed by Assistant Director & Executive Director. Seek opportunities to collaborate with community organizations to participate in health fairs and informational booths. Create and schedule social media posts and respond to comments and messages.
Additional Responsibilities:
Coordinate, plan, and participate in fundraising and community awareness events. Write and design donor communications, including direct mail appeals, emails, newsletters, and other marketing materials such as event invitations, print and digital ads, annual reports, brochures, sponsorship materials, and more. Provide tours of the CACCB as requests arise. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Assistant Director. Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Key Relationships:
Maintain a strong working relationship with CACCB staff, Board of Directors, partner agencies, government officials, grantors, foundations, universities, and contractors. Work closely with CAC Directors to further develop a well-organized & executed Outreach program.
Education:
At minimum, a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Experience in working with children, preferably, with child abuse victims. Experience in public speaking - must be able to communicate effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds. In-depth knowledge of social media marketing and engagement. Knowledge and experience in fundraising and development. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is highly desired, but not required. Knowledge of the mission and goals of the CACCB. Excellent organizational skills are a must.
Other Information:
This position requires travel throughout the CACCB service area, so a valid Texas Driver's License, a cell phone, and reliable transportation are a requirement. Additional travel may occasionally be required for training purposes. It is not anticipated that any travel would last more than 2 - 3 days. Travel is reimbursed in accordance with the CACCB Travel Policy. Desirable personal qualities include tact, good judgment, flexibility, a positive attitude, high professional standards and ethics, and an ability to get along with a variety of people from various disciplines and backgrounds. Employment dependent upon the successful completion of a background check, including criminal, NSOPW and CPS clearances.
