Job Description

Community Outreach Specialist Salary:
$56,880 - $76,608•
Department:
Office of Belonging & Community Transformation Reports to: Director of Belonging and Community Transformation This position will remain open for a minimum of seven (7) days. The College reserves the right to close the recruitment at any time after the minimum posting period once a sufficient applicant pool has been established. All classified positions will start their salary at Step A. The Community Outreach Specialist provides operational and programmatic support for outreach and community engagement efforts that advance Olympic College's commitment to belonging, access, and student success. This position implements outreach activities, coordinates partnerships and events, and supports data collection and reporting to improve engagement with historically underserved populations. Implements outreach plans developed by BCT leadership, in coordination with Student Affairs and enrollment priorities, and provides operational input while consulting with the Director prior to initiating new or modified activities. Conduct community outreach activities including table, presentations, and event participation. Serve as a representative of the college at community events and partner engagements. Coordinate logistics for outreach activities including materials, scheduling, and communication. Collaborate with community-based organizations, K-12 partners, and local agencies to support implementation of established outreach activities and ensure alignment with BCT-directed engagement priorities. Coordinate day-to-day communication and logistics for engagement with Tribal communities under the guidance of the BCT Director and in alignment with established partnership protocols. Monitor outreach contacts and partner communications to maintain accurate records, identify engagement opportunities, and provide operational updates to BCT leadership. Coordinate outreach-related events, workshops, and information sessions under the direction of BCT leadership. Support event planning logistics including scheduling, space coordination, and materials preparation. Maintain outreach calendars and coordinate staffing support in collaboration with the BCT Director. Gather and monitor outreach participation data and engagement metrics, and provide operational summaries to the BCT Director to support outreach effectiveness. Maintain outreach records and databases to ensure accurate tracking of partnerships, activities, and participation. Assist the BCT Director in compiling periodic reports on outreach activities using collected data and documented engagement outcomes. Provide administrative and operational support to BCT outreach initiatives. Minimum Qualifications 2-3 years of experience in outreach, community engagement, or student services Experience working with diverse populations Strong organizational and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in higher education or public sector Familiarity with Kitsap/Mason communities Bilingual/multilingual (Spanish preferred) Experience supporting access, belonging, or outreach initiatives Please note that we are unable to sponsor visas for this position. Only candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States will be considered. This is a full-time classified position scheduled to work 40 hours a week, with a salary range of $ 56,880 - $ 76,608• annually. All classified positions will start their salary at Step A , when you have completed six months of probation, you will receive a 5 percent pay increase. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Washington Public Employees Associat ion (WPEA) Union.
