Through local partnerships, service opportunities, discipleship, and leadership development, Student Ministries seeks to help students connect their faith with meaningful action in the world. What We Need Seattle Pacific University is seeking a Coordinator of Community Outreach and Engagement to support student engagement in meaningful service opportunities throughout the greater Seattle area. Working closely with the Director of Student Ministries, this position provides leadership for SPU's Urban Involvement program, supports student leaders, develops community partnerships, and helps create opportunities for students to engage in service, learning, and relationship-building with local organizations and churches. The ideal candidate is passionate about student development, community engagement, Christian service, and mentoring student leaders. This role requires strong organizational skills, relationship-building ability, and a commitment to helping students connect faith, learning, and service. This position is based on SPU's Seattle campus and requires occasional evening and weekend participation in student programs and events. The Coordinator of Community Outreach and Engagement position supports Seattle Pacific University's mission by contributing to a Christ‑centered learning and working community committed to academic excellence, service, and engagement with the world. What You'll Do Community Outreach & Partnership Development Coordinate community outreach and service opportunities for SPU students in partnership with the Director of Student Ministries and student leaders Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with local nonprofit organizations, community partners, churches, and service sites Coordinate agreements, transportation logistics, documentation, and compliance requirements related to student service opportunities Support the ongoing development and effectiveness of SPU's Urban Involvement program Student Leadership Development Mentor and support Urban Involvement Coordinators and site leaders as they plan and facilitate service experiences Assist with recruitment, selection, training, and development of student leaders Develop and coordinate leadership training programs for Urban Involvement Coordinators and site leaders Support student-led initiatives including the annual Site Fair, weekly site visits, and leadership development gatherings Program Administration & Operations Coordinate program logistics, event planning, scheduling, and communication efforts Manage program supplies, purchasing, reimbursements, and budget tracking Assist with planning and implementation of conferences, retreats, mission trips, and other engagement opportunities Ensure effective communication and collaboration with campus departments and community partners Student Ministries Collaboration Serve as an active member of the Student Ministries team Collaborate on Student Ministries initiatives, events, and departmental priorities Assist with planning and implementation of the annual Church & Ministry Fair Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and collaborative programming efforts Assist in evaluating and maintaining church partnerships consistent with university policies and values Supervision & Support Supervise the graduate assistant assigned to community outreach initiatives Provide guidance, coaching, and support to student leaders and volunteers Foster a welcoming, encouraging, and mission-focused environment for student engagement What You Bring Bachelor's degree in a related field Experience leading, mentoring, or supporting students, volunteers, or community engagement initiatives Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives Strong relationship-building and communication skills Experience coordinating events, projects, programs, or volunteer efforts Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Interest in student development, discipleship, ministry, and community engagement Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Compensation, Benefits & Position Details Hourly Rate:
$28.00-$32.00 per hour, depending on experience
