SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
: Oversees and directs groups of volunteers
SUMMARY OVERVIEW
: The Director of Adult Faith Formation and Evangelization at Saint Timothy Catholic Church is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing in-depth programs to foster and enrich the ongoing spiritual growth and discipleship among adult parishioners. This role works closely with the Pastor to build an active culture of communication within the community, helping to deepen the relationship with Jesus Christ in their lives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
: Because all St. Timothy Catholic Church employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work. OCIA Leadership Oversee the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults process Recruit, train and support catechists, sponsors and team members Facilitate a developed experience for the catechumens and candidates Leadership Development Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers and ministry leaders Provide information and support for catechists and small group facilitators Foster collaboration among parish ministries at all levels Adult Faith Formation Coordinate sacramental preparation for adults; Bible studies, and other adult ministries Help develop and lead evangelization efforts to welcome fallen away and non-Catholics Promote a culture of invitation and discipleship within the parish
OTHER DUTIES/FUNCTIONS
: Social media & marketing Provide resources for small group formation Collaborate with Pastor and other Ministry Directors for parish-wide retreat and event opportunities Administrative duties, including preparing and implementing the AFF ministry budget Provide assistance to other adult programs, including but not limited to: Manna for Men, Free to Be, M.O.S.T., and Moms of Faith Providing parish resources for liturgical seasons Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
: Practicing Catholic in good standing with a strong commitment to the teaching of the Catholic Church Bachelor's degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Pastoral Ministries or related field (Master's preferred) Has a minimum of 3 consecutive years of recent experience in parish ministry and formation Master Catechist Certification Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Will present the teachings of the Catholic Church accurately and without misrepresentation Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point Ability and desire to learn other proprietary programs Provide content for social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and You Tube Bilingual in Spanish a plus
