Job Description Founded in the 1960s as an intentional multiracial congregation, St. Augustine's remains committed to that vision, celebrating a diverse community across generations, identities, and backgrounds in worship and shared life. Located in Southwest DC, our church and four-bedroom rectory sit in a rapidly growing neighborhood that blends new development with long-established community. This diverse and dynamic setting offers rich opportunities for ministry, outreach, and engagement. We seek a priest who can embrace these opportunities and help our congregation grow in faith, spiritual depth, and ministry; an inspiring preacher and leader who will nurture our warm, community-oriented culture while guiding us beyond our walls through outreach and new ministries. Strong pastoral care is essential, and we hope to deepen this work with intention. St. Augustine's is a church with a rich and living history. For over 30 years, we have served hot breakfast to our neighbors and helped establish a Saint's Day honoring Thurgood Marshall, which we celebrate annually. While these ministries reflect our deep commitment to community and social justice, we believe St. A's has even more to offer, and we seek a priest who will help us build on this foundation, to foster a community where all feel at home, where Christ is recognized in one another, and where God's love is made visible in both worship and action.
