Big Dog Ranch Rescue("BDRR") is a one-of-a-kind dog rescue facility located in Loxahatchee Groves, Florida. We are seeking an experienced Full-Time or Part-time Adoption Coordinator 's who are able to multitask in a high paced environment. Our 33-acre campus includes cage-free housing for all residents in comfortable, climate-controlled units. The Adoption Coordinator's ensure the delivery of welcoming, solution-oriented client services to all visitors to Big Dog Ranch Rescue. Responsibilities include all aspects of matchmaking and the adoption process. Works hands-on with other staff to help guide good decision making, enthusiastic interactions, and a proactive approach, enduring that our dogs are placed in caring and loving homes. Foster experience a plus. We are seeking extremely outgoing happy people. Working in this position does not only mean that you will be handling adoption paperwork and computer software, you will also be involved in the rescue and care of the dogs at BDRR! To understand each dog's adoption needs, you will have to work very closely with them. Deep knowledge of the dogs at the ranch and their various attributes are important to know. Receive applications for animal adoptions and review them to verify information contained Match adoptive families with appropriate animals based on their love for animals and ability to look after them Coordinate with prospective adoptive families to attend adoption events Coordinate and participate in adoption events Approve or deny adoption applications based on suitability or families Confer and counsel clients on various animal breeds, characteristics and state adoption policies and procedures Arrange meetings between animals and prospective adoptive families and their pets to determine if they like each other Educate adoptive families on the specific needs of adopted animals and ways of training them according to their inherent natures Assist adoptive families in adjusting to their new family members by providing them with advice and tips and tricks Follow-up with adopters to make sure that their new pet has settled in well
