Job Description
Job Overview Director of Religious Education is responsible for the total religious education program of the parish for adults (OCIA), youth, and children. This vital role involves developing comprehensive religious education programs, fostering youth engagement, and supporting spiritual growth across all age groups. The ideal candidate will bring energetic leadership and must have a deep understanding of the Catholic Church including a knowledge of Scripture, the Catechism, and Church documents. Candidate must be a practicing Catholic with a commitment to his or her own faith life, have experience in teaching the Catholic faith to adults, youth, and children, be a skilled organizer and overseer of catechetical programs that incorporate volunteer contributions. Duties Review, evaluate, and develop religious education curricula for children, youth, and adults based on the major catechetical documents of the Roman Catholic Church. provide an academic schedule to the Pastor Develop, lead and coordinate youth ministry programs, including youth engagement activities, retreats, and service projects Prepare individuals for Sacraments including Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation. Apply appropriate principles of human development, especially faith and morals within a catechetical program. Ensure compliance with safety standards related to religious organization childcare experience and youth programs Proven experience in teaching religious studies or leading youth ministry within a faith-based organization Teach the pillars and Precepts of the
