Job Description

Role and Responsibilities:
General Provide Protestant Religious Education (RE) services (~720 hrs/year; 13-15 hrs/week) Support weekly and monthly RE programming for chapel community Coordinate regularly with Chaplain and TPOC Program Management Develop/select curriculum for Sunday Children's Chapel and Wednesday programs Plan and deliver lessons; prepare all required materials and supplies Lead Children's Chapel/Nursery (ages 6 weeks-12 years) during Sunday services (60-75 min) Conduct children's corporate worship activities Volunteer Coordination Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer teachers Schedule teaching rotations and communicate weekly assignments Conduct pre-service briefings (10-15 minutes before Sunday programs) Ensure all volunteers meet background check requirements (DoD and Protect My Ministry) Administration & Reporting Maintain enrollment, attendance, and volunteer rosters Submit weekly attendance reports Manage correspondence, records, and documentation Provide RE program updates to families as needed Facilities & Supplies Inspect classrooms and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and functionality Maintain inventory; order supplies and curriculum materials (government-provided) Recommend facility improvements Events & Special Programs Plan and execute: Vacation Bible School (5-day annual summer program) Harvest Festival Seasonal programs (Advent, Easter, quarterly family services) Coordinate and rehearse presentations; obtain Chaplain approval Communication & Outreach Maintain bulletin boards and chapel social media (e.g., Facebook) Promote RE programs, events, and activities Stay aligned with chapel events, sermon themes, and community needs Compliance & Coordination Follow Chapel Tithes and Offerings (CTOF) procedures Attend quarterly Protestant Council meetings Submit annual RE program plan and budget (by June 1) Conduct weekly coordination with Chaplain Qualifications Minimum 2 years' experience in religious education or similar programs Experience recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers Knowledge of RE program structure for children and adults
Preferred:
