Do you have excellent administration skills, an eye for detail and enjoy supporting faith-based community activities that make a positive difference? If so, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for. We're looking for a Protestant Religious Education Coordinator to support the delivery of engaging Religious Education programmes across U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii. This varied role combines administration, event coordination, programme support and community engagement, making every week different. You'll work alongside Chaplains, Religious Education leaders and pastoral staff to help create welcoming, well-organised programmes for the Protestant worshipping community. You willl help ensure Religious Education programmes and community events run smoothly throughout the year. From organising calendars and preparing teaching materials to coordinating special seasonal events, your work will help create meaningful experiences for families and the wider community. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys planning, communicating with people and keeping multiple projects on track.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend scheduled meetings with the COR, Director of Religious Education and relevant programme leaders.
  • Prepare and distribute the monthly Protestant Religious Education calendar.
  • Coordinate Religious Education programmes at AMR Chapel and MPC Chapel.
  • Prepare facility reservation requests and programme documentation.
  • Design and produce publicity flyers for services, classes and community events.
  • Track attendance and prepare programme reports.
  • Organise curriculum resources, classroom materials and learning spaces.
  • Support seasonal programmes including Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, Vacation Bible School and Religious Education Kickoff.
  • Take on a leadership role within Vacation Bible School, based on experience.
  • Help coordinate Community Readiness and Resiliency Expo activities.
  • Assist with deployment resources and community information materials.
  • Support the Child Suitability Background Check process through document tracking and quality checks. The Benefits

The Person:
To succeed as a Protestant Religious Education Coordinator , you'll be organised, dependable and confident managing several priorities at once. You'll also have:
  • Excellent administration and organisational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating events, programmes or projects.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to prepare professional documents, reports and promotional materials.
  • A positive approach to building strong working relationships.
  • The ability to work independently while supporting a wider team.
  • Careful attention to detail when handling documentation and records.
