Job Description

Director of Faith formation for Children

  • Mother Seton Parish
  • Germantown Maryl The mission of the Catholic Church of Washington is to spread the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.
In the faithful pursuit of this mission, our parish is seeking a Director of Faith Formation. This role designs and directs the comprehensive Faith Formation program for sacramental preparation of children and reports to the Pastor.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the Sacramental program for First Penance, First Communion and Confirmation.
  • Teaches children requiring extra sacramental preparation
  • Recruits and trains volunteers.
  • Evaluates program curricula and acts as parish resource person in methods and some areas of Theology
  • Responsible for developing a budget for Faith Formation
  • Sacramental Preparation Program
  • Administrative oversight of registration, sacramental records and documentation, parent communication, scheduling, retreat and liturgy coordination, etc.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
  • Able to maintain a positive attitude while providing exemplary customer service.
  • Excellent listener. Education and Experience
  • Master's degree in Catholic Theology or Faith Formation experience.
  • Experience conducting online meetings and activities for individuals and groups.
  • Experience with administrative functions (budgeting, scheduling, institutional relationships)
  • Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office
  • Word, Excel and Outlook, Google Suite) Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment.
