Job Description

Coordinator of Youth Ministry and Faith Formation (Graces 6-12)
Location:
St. Edward the
Confessor Parish, Clifton Park Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Plan, lead, and evaluate weekly faith formation sessions and youth ministry gatherings for grades 6 through 12
  • Coordinate Confirmation preparation, including candidate formation, sponsor engagement, retreats, and the rite itself
  • Design and lead retreats, service projects, social events, and diocesan or regional youth events
  • Recruit, train, support, and supervise catechists, core team members, and adult volunteers
  • Communicate regularly with parents and families and equip them to form their children in the faith at home
  • Collaborate with parish staff on sacramental preparation, liturgy, communications, and parish-wide events
  • Maintain full compliance with diocesan safe environment policies, including training and background screening for self and all volunteers
Minimum Requirements:
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
  • Demonstrated experience working with middle school and high school youth in a ministry, education, or comparable setting
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by program schedule
  • Successful completion of diocesan safe environment training and background check prior to start
Preferences:
  • Bachelor's degree in theology, religious education, pastoral ministry, education, or a related field
  • Experience planning retreats and large-group youth events
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and parish database software
Additional Information:
Salary range of $45,000 to $65,000 per year for a 35-hour week, based on qualifications and experience. Benefits package includes paid time off, holidays, and participation in diocesan benefit plans in accordance with parish policy.
