Position Summary:
The Hispanic Ministry Coordinator serves the parish by fostering the spiritual growth, evangelization, and pastoral care of the Hispanic/Latino community. Working collaboratively with the pastor, parish staff, and volunteers, the coordinator develops and supports ministries, programs, and events that promote active participation in parish life.
Essential Responsibilities:
Pastoral Ministry
  • Welcome and accompany Hispanic parishioners and families.
  • Assist with sacramental preparation programs and faith formation.
  • Support parishioners during times of need by connecting them with parish and community resources.
  • Promote evangelization and missionary outreach within the Hispanic community.
  • Assist couples in navigating parish and diocesan marriage preparation requirements.
  • Be available to support wedding rehearsals and weddings Program Coordination
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate Hispanic ministry activities and events.
  • Recruit, train, and support ministry volunteers and leaders.
  • Coordinate retreats, workshops, prayer groups, and cultural celebrations.
  • Assist in the development of ministry goals and annual plans. Communication
  • Serve as a liaison between the Hispanic community, parish staff, and diocesan offices.
  • Translate parish communications and announcements as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication through parish bulletins, social media, email, and other platforms. Liturgical Support
  • Collaborate with clergy and liturgy teams for Spanish-language Masses and celebrations.
  • Assist in scheduling liturgical ministers, musicians, and volunteers.
  • Promote participation in parish liturgical life. Administrative Duties
  • Maintain ministry records and reports.
  • Manage ministry budgets as assigned.
  • Coordinate registration, attendance tracking, and program documentation.
  • Attend parish staff meetings and diocesan trainings as required. Work Schedule and Availability
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and occasional Holy Days based on parish needs.
  • Must be flexible and willing to adjust work schedules to support major liturgical seasons and parish events, including Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, parish retreats, and other special celebrations.
  • Availability is required for Sunday Masses, faith formation activities, sacramental programs, and community events as assigned.
  • Ability to adapt ministry programming and priorities according to the liturgical calendar and pastoral needs of the parish Qualifications
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of Catholic teachings, sacramental life, and Hispanic culture.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Experience in ministry, education, social services, or related fields preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and basic database systems. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, talk, reach, sit, hear, handle, and perform repetitive motions of the hands/wrists.
