Associate Director- Office for Ministry with Young Adults 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars 222 North 17th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103 Full-time Archdiocese of Philadelphia 91 reviews Full-time Associate Director, Office for Ministry with Young Adults The Archdiocese of Philadelphia seeks an Associate Director for the Office for Ministry with Young Adults. Aligning its vision with the Magisterial teachings on evangelization and accompaniment of young adults in documents such as Christus Vivit , and Listen, Teach, Send , the mission of this office is to equip and support parishes and Catholic leaders as they engage and accompany young adults as missionary disciples of Jesus Christ. The Associate Director is a faith-filled missionary disciple who reports to the Director of Ministry with Young Adults and assists the Director with the implementation of the overall vision by: § Building relationships with pastors, pastoral staff, and young adult ministry leaders by providing resources to develop outreach efforts that accompany young adults in their spiritual growth and human formation. § Offering specific guidance, formational opportunities, mentoring, and consultation services to parishes (through pastors, pastoral staff, and young adult leaders) across the Archdiocese in their understanding of the accompaniment of young adults. § Assisting with Archdiocesan programs and initiatives for training and formation, such as the Young Adult Missionary Discipleship Initiative (YAMDI) , and collaborating with parish and ministry leaders across the Archdiocese. § Providing annual check-ins and formation to key young adult leaders. § Building connections and relationships with young adult ministry leaders, college campus ministries, and missionary groups across the Archdiocese. § Interfacing with other Archdiocesan offices, Strategy Office, Missionary Hubs and others for outreach to young adults across the Archdiocese and in consultation with the Director. § Developing and managing the office webpage, newsletter, and social media (Instagram, Facebook) § Ensuring routine and miscellaneous administrative tasks are accomplished. § Implementing Archbishop's Perez vision of Missionary Discipleship to the Young Adult Community § Planning and execution of young adult events, service opportunities, retreats and pilgrimages. These include but are not limited to: The Well Young Adult Conference, Missionary Mass, World Youth Day, Young Adult Archdiocesan Leadership Council and other gatherings. The Associate Director position is a full-time position that includes some night and weekend responsibilities with occasional overnight travel. Salary is commensurate to experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate for position is a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with: A degree in theology, or comparable discipline; Master's preferred. Experience in administration and ministry on parish, collegiate, or diocesan level. A multi-competent mindset and understanding of ministry to diverse ethnic groups. Skills in training and supporting local leadership as they build up their ministerial outreach. An ability to take direction from superiors while establishing and maintaining good relationships with staff and colleagues. A proven track record for planning and managing events from conceptualization to production. Excellent organizational, communication, computer, time management, and interpersonal skills. An expertise in using technology and social media for evangelization outreach and engagement. An ability to have a creative mindset to brainstorm and to think of ways outside of the box to connect with young adults in diverse communities in various states of life Fluency in Spanish preferred Physical requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tool or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. Frequent prolonged use of a computer, driving moderate distances, some lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 30lbs, generally in connection with presentations and group meetings.
