Job Description

Podcast Host Catholic Podcast Project Evansville, IN Job Details Part-time From $8 an hour 4 days ago Qualifications Podcast production projects Guest rapport building Entry level Full Job Description We are looking for a personable, outgoing, and authentic host to help launch a new Catholic podcast. The vision for this podcast is simple: create a lighthearted, informal, and relatable look at Catholic life and religious vocations. We want to have conversations with Catholic priests, religious brothers and sisters, and others involved in the Church and show the people behind the vocation. Religious life is often viewed as very formal or distant. We want to change that. The goal is to show that priests and religious men and women are regular people with personalities, interests, stories, humor, struggles, and experiences — people who have answered a great calling. We want to get to know our guests beyond their title or vocation. What were they like as kids? What did they want to be when they grew up? What hobbies and interests do they have? When did they first feel called to religious life? What made them decide to pursue that calling? What was the transition like from everyday life into becoming a priest or religious? And what are the everyday challenges or struggles they experience in their vocation? The conversations may touch on faith and serious topics, but we want the overall feel to remain relaxed, conversational, and sometimes funny. We want listeners to feel like they are getting to know a person rather than simply interviewing a priest or religious. Ultimately, we hope to create a podcast that makes religious life more approachable and helps people see the humanity, personality, humor, and joy behind these incredible vocations. Ideal Candidate Naturally outgoing and comfortable talking with people Has a warm, engaging personality and a good sense of humor Curious and able to ask thoughtful questions Comfortable discussing Catholicism and faith Can make guests feel relaxed and comfortable Enjoys storytelling and getting to know people Podcasting, interviewing, broadcasting, or media experience is a plus, but not required Most importantly, we are looking for someone who can connect with people naturally Compensation Compensation will depend on the success and growth of the podcast and can be negotiated based on experience and involvement. If you enjoy meeting people, having great conversations, and would love the opportunity to help create a different kind of Catholic podcast, we would love to hear from you. Please apply with a brief introduction about yourself and why you think you would be a good fit for the host role.
