Job Description

Doshisha University's Department of Education and Culture invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in the area of Religion and Character Formation in a Multicultural Society , to begin in April 2027 (the beginning of Japan's spring semester). RESPONSIBILITIES and
QUALIFICATIONS
Teach the core curriculum course " Cultural Foundations of Christian Education ," alongside courses such as " Service Learning Practicum " and " Seminar in Educational and Cultural Studies ." Demonstrate fluency in both English and Japanese , with the ability to teach and work effectively in either language. Maintain a strong research profile and demonstrate excellence in teaching, specifically using experience-based and place-based learning pedagogies. Show commitment to the university's principles and the department's objectives, including a willingness to navigate Japanese university culture and assist with administrative duties.
