Children's Ministry Associate, Bethany North Bethany Community Church Mountlake Terrace, WA Job Details Part-time $25 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Teamwork Interpersonal skills Volunteer management Small group instruction Working with children Operations planning Logistics planning Time management Full Job Description Overview The Children's Ministry Associate oversees the operations of Bethany Kids classrooms and related environments so that elementary children and families might encounter Christ in transformative, age-appropriate ways. Responsibilities Provide Leadership for Elementary Aged Programming Lead the logistical execution of the Sunday morning Elementary experience, ensuring classrooms, volunteers, and materials are fully prepared. Support CYFM Communication and Administrative Needs Collaborate with the Family Ministry team to develop care and follow-up processes for regular attendees, new visitors, and inactive families. Ensure that volunteers are aware of and compliant with Bethany's safety policy. Partnering with the Children's Ministry Director to coordinate communications and calendar for Children's and Family Ministries events, ensuring timely communication for these events. Provide logistical and administrative support for ministry events, meetings, and classes. Support seasonal events and special projects in collaboration with CYFM Team Support the planning and execution of Summer Vacation Bible School (VBS), helping create a fun, safe, and spiritually engaging experience for kids and volunteers. Participate as a member of the Bethany North and Bethany Community Church Staff, and perform other duties as the situation arises/assigned by supervisor. Manage systems that sustain weekly ministry rhythms for the elementary classes, including scheduling, supply management and classroom readiness. Support volunteers through clear communication, preparation of resources, and on-the-ground coordination. Maintain organized, safe and welcoming ministry spaces that reflect the values and vision set by the Director and Family Team. Lead and execute monthly Tween Nights for 4th-5th graders, cultivating a fun, welcoming, and faith-forming environment. Requirements Maintains a life of personal and spiritual development and accountability, demonstrating the virtues and qualities of a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Understanding and adherence to Bethany's in our outward-facing messaging. A loyal team player who is committed to the religious mission, values, and vision of Bethany Community Church. Experience working with children in a variety of settings. Strong organizational, administrative, and time-management skills. Ability to manage details, logistics, and weekly systems with consistency. Ability to comfortably interact with children, parents, and volunteers in a one-on-one basis, in a small group teaching/facilitation role, and in a large group-teaching role. Willingness to learn, grow, and support a team-oriented ministry culture. Must be at least 18 years of age and able to provide transportation to and from church.
