Job Description Zion has often been used as a metaphor for Jerusalem and the Biblical land of Israel. It has come to mean a longed-for place … the "Promised Land." Early settlers here in the northern Shenandoah Valley surely thought they had found this peace, safe refuge in what has become known as "Almost Heaven" West Virginia. They aptly named their church Mt. Zion here in the village of Hedgesville. We, too, find this a place of peace. Mt. Zion is a special place to those of us who call it our spiritual home. We want others to experience this peace, love, and fellowship in God's Kingdom. In order to help us bring others to the knowledge and love of God, and of his son, Jesus Christ, we need a leader.
