Basic Function Under the direction of the Associate Director of Transfer Admission, provide information regarding the University to prospective transfer students; travel to various cities in California, to recruit students and make presentations to community colleges, interview students, reviews applications and scholarship essays, follows up with students, selects qualified applicants, and makes recommendations regarding admissions and awarding of scholarships as appropriate; provides support to recruitment activities in areas including but not limited to transfer and multicultural recruitment, professional development and community relations. Representative Duties Conducts admission interviews for prospective transfer students. E
Evaluates transcripts, interprets transfer course equivalencies, advises students on core requirements and available majors. E
Maintains admission files and enrollment records. E
Plans, coordinates and implements transfer recruitment activities.. E
Builds relationships with community colleges and businesses in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. E
Read and evaluate applications and scholarship essays; assure applicant credentials meet qualifications for admission; select qualified applicants and make recommendations regarding admissions and awarding of scholarships. E
Provides outstanding customer service to prospective students and applicants; responds promptly to inquiries via email and phone; manages communication with prospective students and applicants regarding admission process and related matters. E
Explains financial aid policies and opportunities. E
Communicates effectively with university personnel and departments servicing students and coordinating events. E
Develops routine letters and other correspondence as needed. E
Attends staff and campus wide meetings. E
Performs work during the evening and some weekends, including light travel. E
Provides work direction and training to assigned staff. E
Prepares and maintains records and reports related to assigned activities. E
Participates in the development of publicity materials including letters, brochures and fliers. E

Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to internal and external audiences
Organize and schedule work
Operate a computer and other office equipment Minimum Qualifications Any combination equivalent to: Bachelor's Degree and intern experience in a college or university setting Preferred Qualifications Fluency in Spanish Licenses and other requirements Ability to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
Valid driver's license Physical Abilities Detect to understand appropriate written correspondence; operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer; communicate to exchange information in person, in writing, on the telephone and by email; stationary position for extended periods of time; move or transport light objects; position self to store and/or retrieve files Environment Office environment
