Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Admissions Counselor serves as a front-line ambassador for the College, building relationships with prospective students and families and guiding them through the college application and enrollment process. This role is responsible for recruiting students from an assigned geographic territory and increasing awareness of Warren Wilson's undergraduate programs through travel and thoughtful outreach. The Admissions Counselor works with future students, families, school counselors, and campus partners to build the application pool and meet enrollment goals. We are seeking a motivated and personable professional who enjoys connecting with people and building trust. The ideal candidate communicates clearly, works well both independently and as part of a team, and finds purpose in supporting students through an important decision. Please be aware no relocation assistance is available for this position. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree. One year of relevant experience with extensive communication in a customer facing role on the phone, via email, and in person. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain supportive relationships with students, families, and campus partners. Demonstrated experience working effectively with people from all backgrounds and perspectives. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Suite. Valid driver's license required. Preferred Qualifications One to three years of experience working in an office of higher education, providing familiarity with college and university programs, majors, admissions requirements and processes, and scholarship and financial aid resources. Proficiency and demonstrated experience utilizing a CRM system, preferably Slate. Experience in sales, customer service, or relationship management preferred. Bilingual or multilingual ability preferred, with fluency in Spanish. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and manage student recruitment: Work with members of the enrollment division to develop and implement strategies to generate and complete undergraduate applications for admission. Respond to inquiries and provide accurate and timely information regarding application policies and procedures in accordance with Warren Wilson's established messaging. Conduct the review and selection of applicants in a thorough and timely manner. Attend college fairs and plan high school and college campus visits to generate interest and cultivate relationships (up to 8-10 weeks of travel per year). Communicate with advisors and counselors to cultivate strong relationships and develop enrollment pipelines. Conduct activity related to the conversion of applications throughout the enrollment funnel. Assist in all on-campus/off-campus recruitment events. Gain general working knowledge of the financial aid process in collaboration with the Financial Aid Office.
