About the Organization We are an education company based in New York with over 15 years of experience supporting students through academic tutoring and admissions advising. Our core focus is U.S. college admissions, and we also provide guidance for private school application pathways when needed. Position Summary We're seeking a thoughtful, highly organized, and detail-focused Admissions Counselor who is fully bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese . This role is primarily responsible for guiding students through the college admissions process, with additional involvement in private school application advising. Key Responsibilities 1) Academic Planning & Course Strategy Build long-term academic plans tailored to each student's goals and school graduation requirements. Advise on course selection and rigor (Honors / AP / IB) while helping students maintain a healthy, realistic workload. 2) Activities, Leadership & Student Profile Development Coach students to identify and develop meaningful extracurricular commitments, leadership opportunities, competitions, and summer experiences. Help students reflect on their experiences and shape a cohesive student profile aligned with their interests, strengths, and growth areas. 3) Application Strategy & Execution Support Create individualized application strategies, school lists, and timelines for each student. Guide students through application systems (Common App, UC application, and school-specific portals) and ensure deadlines are met. Provide detailed feedback and light editing on essays and short responses—improving structure, clarity, and language while preserving the student's authentic voice (coaching approach; no ghostwriting ). Demonstrate strong English writing and editing skills, especially when supporting students' written materials. 4) Communication, Tracking & Team Collaboration Communicate regularly with students and families in both English and Mandarin regarding progress, next steps, and key milestones. Coordinate with internal instructors and counselors to ensure consistent advising and aligned student support. Track tasks and deliverables, follow up proactively, and keep the overall process organized and on schedule. Stay current on admissions trends, school expectations, and best practices. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree or above Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese (speaking and writing) Strong organization, communication, and relationship-building skills Experience working with middle school and/or high school students A genuine interest in education and student development Working knowledge of U.S. college admissions (Common App, UC, essays) Background in advising, counseling, education, or student services Compensation Starting salary: $50,000-$100,000 per year Final compensation will be determined based on experience, capabilities, and performance. Work Authorization & Sponsorship OPT/CPT candidates are welcome. For high-performing team members, visa sponsorship may be considered (H-1B and/or permanent residency support).
