Professional Position Summary:
As part of a dynamic Graduate Admissions team, this position serves as a primary representative of SUNY Plattsburgh's graduate programs and admissions processes. Reporting to the Director of Graduate Admissions, this role is responsible for recruiting and supporting prospective and current graduate students through comprehensive outreach, advising, and engagement efforts. Key duties include counseling prospective students on admissions requirements, academic programs, financial aid, application processes, and graduate resources through various communication channels, while implementing targeted recruitment strategies to increase application completion and enrollment. The position represents the university at recruitment events, graduate fairs, employer outreach activities, and community programs, and delivers presentations to diverse audiences in both virtual and in-person settings. Additional responsibilities include planning and assessing recruitment and yield events, overseeing graduate student engagement initiatives and social media efforts, maintaining orientation materials and digital content, and supporting programs that enhance the graduate student experience. The role also requires maintaining accurate recruitment records, generating reports and data analyses to inform enrollment planning, contributing to process improvements, and participating in university committees and initiatives that promote student enrollment, retention, and success. The position requires comprehensive knowledge of graduate admissions policies, academic programs, enrollment systems, financial assistance resources, and student support services. The advisor plays a key role in achieving graduate enrollment goals through relationship building, strategic communication, data-informed recruitment practices, and collaboration with campus partners. The Enrollment and Student Success division supports a student's entire collegiate experience from the point of admission through to graduation. We partner with students, faculty and staff to provide a network of opportunities and services that lead to student success. Collectively, the division of Enrollment and Student Success positively influences the health, safety and well-being of the student body.
