Job Description

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of NGU Online & Graduate Admissions, the NGU Online & Graduate Enrollment Counselor (EC) is responsible for fostering counselor-student relationships. Working over the phone and via email in a fast-paced team environment, the EC works to advise and enroll undergraduate and graduate students seeking an online or onsite degree. Additionally, the role involves conducting student appointments to identify students' educational goals and disseminate program information to potential students. An EC is energetic and achiever-oriented, driven by a desire to help students. The position requires being adept at counseling online students as they begin their degree program to ensure long-term student success and retention. The job entails loving to collaborate with other high performers to get things done.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Executes the contact strategy with prospective first-time and transfer/readmit online students via outbound (75 per day) and inbound communication (phone, email, and text message). Guides prospective students through NGU's admissions processes by clearly communicating program requirements, cost, transfer credit information, time commitment, technology requirements, and student support services. Utilizes Slate and Jenzabar to review, assess, document, and update student progression through the enrollment process while observing information privacy policies. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all outreach attempts and student interactions within CRM system. Utilize predictive analytics and enrollment forecasting software to identify prospective students with the highest likelihood of application completion, enrollment, and persistence. Establishes and nurtures relationships with prospective, new, and returning students. Maintains in-depth knowledge of online and graduate program offerings and how they align with student needs. Sets appointments with students to discuss educational goals and disseminate course and program information. Meets or exceeds enrollment goals for each term and analyzes trends to improve performance. Attend training sessions to receive updated information about new programs, services, requirements, etc. Initiative-taking to develop new skills and enthusiastic about following the latest online enrollment best practices. Perform other duties as assigned to support the admissions office and overall enrollment management efforts.

Read reports, create documents, and use a computer system.

Hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, vendors, and students. Dexterity, Grasping, Feeling, Write, type, and use the telephone, copier, and computer systems.

Open files and operate office machines; move between departments and attend meetings across campus.

Frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.

Ability to critically think and concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in conditions
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
This position is a full-time salary position. The NGU Online & Graduate Enrollment Counselor is expected to collaborate with the institution's marketing and admission teams closely. The Enrollment Counselor reports to the Director of NGU Online & Graduate Admissions. The nature of responsibilities makes it necessary to work in-person and on location with other team members.
WORK SCHEDULE
The Office of NGU Online & Graduation Admissions is open Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday 8:30 a.m. to noon. Summer hours may vary. Office hours are subject to change as deemed necessary. Occasional work on Saturdays, Sundays, and evenings will be required. TRAVEL Occasional travel. Bachelor's degree required. Two years of sales experience preferred. Willing and able to maintain a weekly schedule that requires some weeknights and/or Saturdays. Superior relationship-building skills with the ability to build rapport, win trust, and overcome objections via the phone. Exceptional oral and written communication skills and confident phone presence. Ability to quickly learn, retain, and share online program information with new and prospective students. Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively. Positive attitude with an elevated level of energy and enthusiasm. Receptive to coaching, training, and motivation techniques. Results oriented. Strong work ethic, tenacious, self-disciplined, and initiative-taking. Flexible and adaptable to a changing environment. Proficient with MS Office Suite, CRM, and web-based platforms. Supports NGU's mission, core values, and commitment to a Christian lifestyle and character in keeping with biblical models. Active in a biblically faithful, evangelical church. Affirms an understanding and willingness not to advocate against the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
