Visit Tri-Cities Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Benton-Franklin Trends Here's how you will support our mission The Reentry Navigator will provide education-related reentry support and community outreach for current and prospective justice-impacted students. This position collaborates. with college and community representatives, including law enforcement and corrections staff, to advance equitable student access and success, in alignment with college strategic goals. The Reentry Navigator will report to the Director for Student Recruitment. The salary range for this position is $58,546.00 - $67,360.00 annually. This position is open until filled. First consideration will be given to applicants whose complete application has been received by July 12 , 2026 at 11:59 PM PST . The College will conduct initial interviews with selected candidates via Zoom and will conduct on-campus interviews with finalists. Primary Responsibilities Collaborate and communicate with corrections navigators and jail staff to connect in person with prospective students prior to release and create a seamless transition for participants; Engage in frequent check-ins with current and prospective students to strengthen relationships, cultivate educational capital and increase academic and social confidence; Maintain accurate and detailed documentation and outcomes records on students for purposes of data analysis and evaluation; Contribute to the development and implementation of an outreach and recruitment plan to create a climate of belonging, inclusion and affirmation for justice-impacted people; support the CBC strategic plan for recruitment and outreach; Create and present workshops and/or information for potential students who are being released from incarceration to promote CBC in general, as well as specific College programs by creating a positive, engaging and collaborative environment; Meet with prospective students one-on-one to provide guidance through the following onboarding enrollment steps: application submission, financial aid, getting started steps and assessment preparation as well as. assisting with providing information on programs and degrees at CBC; Provide workshops, small group activities and one-on-one meetings to assist with engagement in student life, campus activities and access to campus and community resources; Contribute to the development and dissemination of CBC marketing materials and recruitment activities for justice-impacted people; Participate in regular staff meetings to maintain current institutional information as well as prepare for new initiatives and enrollment management strategies to allow for planning departmental work under campus mission; Assist in maintaining a campus-wide outreach/recruitment calendar, utilize web-based recruitment tools and scheduling systems to ensure communication with prospective students; Attend trainings and conferences to keep current with the requirements and procedures for transiting students including (but not limited to) attending and participating in quarterly trainings and conference calls with statewide Education Navigators; Convene committees that serve to enhance the student experience and advocate for current and formerly incarcerated students; participate and develop peer-mentoring programs to facilitate the creation of student support groups made up for Justice Involved students and alumni; Provide educational related transition assistance such as referrals for support services and college expenses; Build and maintain current information about available resources to housing, employment • and assistance for formerly incarcerated students that will promote student retention, success and completion; and Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an institutionally accredited college or university; Two (2) years of experience working in education, social/human services or community outreach; and Understanding of how racial and intersectional inequities limit access to and success in higher education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience working with the criminal justice systems or incarcerated populations; Experience with outreach, marketing, and/or participant recruitment; Proficiency in working with and understanding spreadsheets and data bases; Program development and evaluation experience; and Experience working with CRM software systems.
