Until Filled Family Advocate (Wasilla Head Start) - To assist in integrating parent and family engagement strategies into all systems and program services to support family well-being and promote children's learning and development. Work with other staff and directly with families on a family partnership process and providing a full range services and referrals. Assist families in setting and accomplishing goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Two years' experience in family social services setting preferred, including knowledge and experience relating to community resources for referrals to families in need of services Degree in Human Services, Psychology, or related field that includes coursework in the principles of social work, child development, counseling, and/or psychology is preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Skilled in communicating with and motivating people Ability to set and maintain professional boundaries with families Knowledge of community resources and the skills to link families with appropriate agencies and services Knowledge of adult learning principles and family dynamics Knowledge and ability to work with families using the Family Centered, Strength-Based approach Knowledge of child development Ability and desire to work with families of all socio-economic levels and their young children at the Center and in the home Ability to work as team member with staff and parents Good organization skills and timely, accurate documentation Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds Capable of getting up and down from the floor with ease Can stand and/or sit for extended periods of time interchangeably Flexibility to work additional hours appreciated Clear any current CCS Insurance Policy Requirements to be an Insured Driver Valid Alaska Driver's License, current auto insurance and a good driving record

Maintained Background Check Annual Physical/Health History CPR and First Aid Certification Food Worker Card Current Alaska Driver's License and auto insurance
