  • 8 Hour Job Code CN-111 Job Grade CN/06 Job Goal To prepare, serve, and distribute meals to HCS students, staff, and others consistent with mandated nutritional and dietary requirements and to participate in the proper care and sanitation of food service equipment, tools, and facilities by complying with district, state, and federal regulations.
Reports To CNP Supervisor as assigned Supervises None Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Participates in the provision of safe, efficient, and high quality food services for the school district consistent with mandated nutritional and dietary requirements and goals, policies, and guidelines established by district and state and federal CNP regulations.
  • Prepares, serves, and distributes food and beverages in accordance with established school kitchen procedures in an efficient manner that effectively meets the needs of HCS students, staff, faculty, and others.
  • Ensures timely preparation and distribution of meals for participants in after-school enrichment activities.
  • Fulfills annual Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) sponsor training requirements in accordance with program regulations.
  • Adheres to USDA standards, including but not limited to the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, and mandated nutritional and dietary requirements of the National School Lunch Program, the Child and Adult Care Food Program, and the Summer Food Service Program, as well as applicable federal and state regulations, school system rules, administrative procedures, and local Board policies.
  • Ensures the maintenance of food preparation, service, and storage areas in an organized and sanitary manner by adhering to established regulations for cleaning and sanitizing all food service equipment, tools, dishes, trays, serving vessels, etc.
  • Operates food service equipment in a safe and skillful manner, maintains upkeep of dining area furnishings, and follows proper procedures to report any malfunctions, incidents, or maintenance issues to assigned supervisor.
  • Follows proper procedures related to stocking and storing USDA commodities, supplies, and other items.
  • May serve as cashier as assigned by supervisor and performs duties such as collecting money, balancing cash registers, and preparing deposits.
  • May prepare and serve meals at approved school functions and special events as needed.
  • Participates in a variety of approved trainings, activities, and events, including in-service programs, seminars, conferences, workshops, etc. to address professional learning needs.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.
Qualifications Completion of the ninth grade. One (1) year of experience in food service preferred. Physical Requirements Requires exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly. Terms of Employment Nine month year, eight hours per day. Salary as recommended by the Superintendent and approved by the Board.
