A Family, School, or General Social Worker provides specialized assistance to vulnerable families and children. Intervenes in crisis situations; evaluates individual and family needs, helps clients get access to health care, mental health care or social services such as housing assistance. Advocates for clients and provides follow up visits. May work with teachers, parents and school administrators to help students improve academically and deal with social issues such as bullying.
The student worker operating as the After-School Teacher will support the mission of Faulkner University Pre-K by providing a safe and engaging environment for children during the after-school care program. This position will oversee the children during afternoon pickup and assist in both supervising and ensuring safe and procedural pickup.
Responsibilities:
Plan and facilitate structured games, artistic projects, and collaborative group exercises to foster cognitive and social growth Ensure child safety, oversee snack periods, and implement positive behavior guidance strategies Monitor children closely during outdoor and playground activities to maintain physical safety Manage safe and orderly student dismissal during afternoon pickup
