W5000 SALARY Range ($70,718.40-$102,664.80 Annually). Salary will be commensurate with experience. Limitations apply to current State employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Social Work approved by the Council on Social Work Education. 72 months or more experience as a social worker in the mental health field, including 24 months or more supervisory experience
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a license as a graduate social worker as issued by the Alabama Board of Social Work.
KIND OF WORK
Provides Social Worker supervision (administrative, educational and supportive) to the social workers in regularly scheduled supervisory conferences. Implements a Performance Improvement Plan for Social Work Department. Coordinates orientation and ongoing in-service training for all Social Work Department staff. Attends and participates in assigned committees. Manages and maintains the Social Worker CEU program. Coordinates the process for referral of patients to other state facilities and community placements. Develops and implements facility and discipline policies and procedures. Coordinates social work treatment services to patients/families. Performs other related duties necessary to the effective operations of the facility.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of therapies and casework such as individual, group, and family. Knowledge of human behavior. Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques. Knowledge of social work to include family dynamics, developmental models, community, and group. Knowledge of mental and psychological disorders. Ability to read and comprehend documents such as court orders, policies and procedures, regulatory standards, assessments, professional journals and publications, patient medical records, histories, personnel records, and rehabilitation reports. Ability to make clinical assessments. Ability to make decisions. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to supervise, delegate, commend, discipline, evaluate, and evaluate the work of others.
