Full-time Position Summary:
The Victim Services Advocate provides high-quality, direct services to victims of domestic violence, ensuring safety, support, and empowerment. The Victims Services Advocate works collaboratively with other staff, interns, volunteers, and community partners to deliver trauma-informed care and advocacy. The advocate plays a vital role in crisis response, case management, and outreach throughout the agency's service area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Answer the 24/7 crisis hotline and provide appropriate crisis intervention. Conduct intake meetings and in-person support sessions with resident and non-resident clients. Complete assessments and provide case management services for assigned clients. Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of services provided. Assist the Shelter Manager in ensuring clients understand and follow facility rules and safety procedures. Provide advocacy and accompaniment to court, hospitals, and other community agencies as needed. Share on-call responsibilities with other Family Crisis Center (FCC) staff. Attend required trainings, staff meetings, and agency events. Maintain and distribute up-to-date resource information to clients. Provide outreach services and facilitate domestic violence support groups as needed. Offering in-person crisis counseling to both residents and non-resident clients. Represent FCC professionally in all interactions and public engagements. Abide by FCC's code of ethics, policies, and procedures at all times. Support shelter operations as directed by the Shelter Manager. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the successful operation of FCC.
Qualifications:
Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related mental health discipline.
Experience:
Prior experience working with trauma survivors, especially victims of domestic violence, strongly preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Knowledge of community resources and service systems is beneficial.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
Transportation:
Must have reliable transportation, a valid Arkansas Driver's License, and proof of insurance.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically. Ability to move throughout the shelter and office facilities, including ADA-accessible areas. Ability to perform light physical tasks such as lifting up to 20 pounds (e.g., supplies, donations). Ability to respond promptly in emergency or crisis situations, including assisting clients with mobility needs. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Work Environment:
Shelter and office settings with occasional travel to outreach locations, courts, hospitals, and community events. Exposure to emotionally intense situations involving survivors of trauma. Flexible schedule may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
