Position Summary:
The HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters) Home Visitor works directly with families of preschool-aged children to support school readiness. This position involves preparing and delivering weekly educational materials, modeling lessons for parents, maintaining accurate records and paperwork, and encouraging parent involvement in their child's learning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver weekly HIPPY curriculum materials and educational activities to participating families. Visit homes on a regular schedule to demonstrate lessons and activities for parents. Encourage and support parents as their child's first and most important teacher. Maintain accurate records of home visits, family participation, and program activities. Complete required paperwork, reports, and documentation in a timely manner. Monitor family progress and provide feedback and support as needed. Recruit and retain eligible families for program participation. Communicate regularly with the HIPPY Coordinator regarding family needs, concerns, and progress. Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development activities. Maintain confidentiality of all participant and program information. Assist with parent meetings, group activities, and special events as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with young children and families preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Basic computer and record-keeping skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel regularly to participants' homes. Ability to carry educational materials and supplies. Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive for extended periods as required.
