This position will provide psycho-educational interventions to clients to deal with the myriad of issues they face in adjusting to living and working with visual impairments. SWCM will provide individual therapy sessions, group therapy, and vocational exploration counseling. SWCM will not be responsible for long-term therapy treatment plans, but will make referrals to other mental health professionals as needed. Each prevocational client is staffed before entering WSB to ensure their specific mental health needs are able to be managed while a client is in residence. The SWCM will conduct group sessions with clients that address issues such as adjusting to visual impairments, dealing with stress and anxiety, managing depression, and increasing social skills, confidence, and esteem.
