Job Description

Director of Children and Family Ministries Job Summary:
We are seeking a charismatic individual with a strong faith and love for young people to lead God's children (6th grade and under) at FCC. The Director of Children and Family Ministries will recruit and train a team of volunteers and staff to lead our children into deeper relationships with Jesus.

Average of 15 hours per week
Salary :
$14,000 per year 1 week/year paid vacation after 6 months of service; 2 weeks/year after 1 year of service Tax-deferred retirement account benefit, if desired. Background check required. There is a 90-day probationary period for all new staff members.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Draw children into deeper relationships with Jesus through lessons, Bible studies, and exciting activities.
  • Create events and opportunities that will draw children and families into the FCC community.
  • Connect with every child that attends or visits our church to draw them more deeply into the FCC community.
  • Recruit, train, and nurture children's ministry leaders. Help leaders select and acquire curriculum and supplies.
  • Plan, staff, and organize larger events, such as Summer Experience (like Vacation Bible School), Neighborhood Block Party, and children's programs at Christmas and Easter.
  • Foster relationships with children and families at First Friends Preschool and Roo's World After School Care and Summer Camp. Seek out avenues to welcome children and families into FCC.
  • Lead "Child and Personnel Protection Trainings" for staff and volunteers to promote the safety of our children and adults.
  • Plan and vision alongside the larger church staff at staff meetings.
  • Serve as a voting member of the Youth Outreach Board (overseeing First Friends Preschool).
