Job Goal:
To provide our students with the knowledge, skllls, and atittudes to become life-long learners and responsible citizens by providing services to students and families which strengthen home/school/community relationships and alleviate barriers to learning.Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in social work (MSW) desired or equivalent professional social work degree from an accredited school Arizona State Social Worker license One year of successful social work experience or one year of field instruction in a school system, or six semester hours of acceptable coursework Knowledge of school, district and community resources available for students and families Valid driver's license and ability to make home visits Satisfactory criminal background check Vision and hearing adequate to exercise job responsibilities in a safe manner Knowledge of and adherence to all policies, regulations and rulesCore Job Functions:
Act as a liaison between family, school and community agencies Conduct home visits and gather information relevant to a child's educational, social, emotional and physical development Identify cultural, ethnic, financial, physical and emotional challenges which might constitute a reason for learning failure and provide support to alleviate barriers Consult with school personnel regarding issues affecting the student's academic progress, behavior, and personal well-being Provide interventions to students and their families during crisis Assist with the upkeep and disbursement of clothing/shoes/hygiene items May provide individual and group counseling May provide transportation for parents and students with approval of the supervisor Attend and participate in meetings which may occur beyond the staff's normally scheduled workday Make referrals for students and parents to appropriate resources Maintain accurate records for compliance with district, federal and state regulations May maintain Medicaid logs to document student services Plan, conduct and/or participate in in-service activities Follow district policies as outlined Perform related duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the positionCore Values/Professional Qualities:
