Monday - Friday 8:00 AM-4:00 PM and as needed to meet the needs of the department.

$23.16/hour Verde Valley Sanctuary is seeking a passionate bilingual (English/Spanish) survivor advocate who thrives in direct service and wants to support survivors of domestic and sexual violence within the Community Based Advocacy Department. Working closely with the Director of Programs, the Bilingual Community Based Advocate is an essential support to the department and will provide culturally relevant and language accessible trauma-informed outreach and lay legal advocacy services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. JOB SUMMARY

The Bilingual Community Based Advocate is responsible for providing comprehensive trauma-informed direct services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through Verde Valley Sanctuary's Community Based Advocacy Department. Through individual advocacy, outreach and education, case management, safety planning, lay legal advocacy, and referrals, this position will improve the safety, quality of life, and resiliency of survivors who receive services from Verde Valley Sanctuary. This position is expected to model and uphold Verde Valley Sanctuary's mission, vision, and values.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Answer and respond to calls to the Community Based Advocacy department. Provide trauma-informed support services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Verde Valley Sanctuary's Community Based Advocacy Department. Provide culturally relevant and language accessible services to all survivors and their families, including women, men, children, LGBTQ+, and survivors of diverse ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds. Conduct education and awareness activities across the Verde Valley and Yavapai County to bring attention to the issues of domestic and sexual violence and Verde Valley Sanctuary's services. Be a passionate advocate for Verde Valley Sanctuary's mission and vision.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Bilingual English/Spanish. Any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to an associate's degree in social work, women and gender studies, social justice, counseling, or related field. Direct experience in the areas of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and/or homelessness is a plus. One or more years of experience in survivor advocacy and/or case management in a related field. Valid Arizona driver's license and insurance. Currently possess, or ability to successfully obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance

• Ability to pass other, multi-state (if applicable), required fingerprint-based background checks. CPR/1st Aid Certified.
• Negative TB test required.
• If necessary, Verde Valley Sanctuary will complete these areas of qualification during the onboarding process.

PREFERRED

Bachelor's or master's degree in social work, women and gender studies, social justice, counseling, or a related field. Two or more years of experience working with victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault.
