Experience Valid licensure as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Proven experience in medical social work within hospital, inpatient, outpatient, nursing home, or hospice settings. Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding systems for documentation purposes. Experience working with individuals across the lifespan—including children, seniors, or individuals with disabilities—especially in settings like assisted living or post-acute care environments. Strong knowledge of behavioral health interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and mental health counseling techniques. Ability to manage crisis situations effectively through crisis management skills and emergency response protocols. Proficiency in using EMR systems for documentation and data collection while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards. Demonstrated understanding of Medicare regulations, discharge planning procedures, and community resource coordination strategies.
